ArtSync TV is a Toronto-based television show that covers the contemporary visual
art scene. The program is locally syndicated and our web site, artsync.ca, receives
over twelve thousand daily hits from visitors in over thirty countries.

After two incredibly successful seasons, we are seeking to expand our intern and
volunteer base.

Although currently unpaid, these posts offer enviable exposure to the Toronto
art scene and valuable experience for those seeking a career in the worlds of art,
television, and online communications. The opportunity may be eligible for school
credit or, as contributions to a registered not-for-profit organization, volunteer
hours.

Volunteer Positions will commence September 2011; Intern positions will

Television Host: 4 hours/wk

The television hosts shares weekly interviewing responsibilities with several others.
Each week offers the opportunity to speak with top artists and arts professionals for
both brief (5 minute) and extended (15 minute) interviews. The ideal candidate is
outgoing, articulate, and versed in Canadian art.

Junior Web Editor: 10 hours/wk

The Junior Web Editor assists with updating, editing, and otherwise managing
content for artsync.ca. Ideal qualifications include: strong writing skills; ability to
work independently; reliability; basic computer skills; interest in/knowledge of
Canadian art.

Junior Producer’s Assistant: 8-10 hours/wk

The Junior Producer’s Assistant attends video shoots to liaise with gallery and
artist contacts; assists with mailings and other communications; contributes to the
ArtSync Newsletter initiative. The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated,
and knowledgeable about the Canadian art scene.

Video Editor: 10 hours/wk

The Video Editor assists with the weekly post-production of ArtSync TV. Availability
on Fridays is preferable, and knowledge of Final Cut Pro is essential.

Production Assistant: 5 hours/wk

The Production Assistant oversees sound, lighting, and cameras at shoots on

Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Camera Person: 5 hours/wk

The Camera Person operates one HD video camera at shoots on Thursday evenings
and Saturday afternoons.

Sound Person: 5 hours/wk

The Sound Person oversees sound recording of interviews and events filmed on
Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Summer Book Project Interns :

This summer ArtSync is launching a book project to document the artists and
exhibits we featured in 2010-11. We’re seeking qualified and enthusiastic applicants
for the following positions:

The Image Acquisition and Rights Intern will acquire rights to the required
images and organize these images for publication.

The Advertisement and Funding Intern will sell advertising, process advanced
book orders, and otherwise oversee the project budget.

The Design Intern will help to develop and implement the book’s layout/design.

For each position, a minimum of ten hours/week is required, and a larger
commitment is preferable. The position will last through September, with possibility
to continue working with ArtSync after project completion.
